It’s time to share the last Rome vlog with you today, and it’s all about our third and last day in this historical city. We booked a late flight back to Berlin, so we had a couple of hours left before we had to go to the airport. We started the day with breakfast again, but instead of leaving the hotel and exploring some more parts of Rome, we decided to stay at the hotel to work a little bit and, of course, to pack our bags. We worked until noon, checked out and headed straight to the Roman Forum. Since we didn’t visit it the day before, it was the first thing on our list for the last day in Rome. It’s a huge area and we barely saw everything it, but we tried to see as much as possible.

When you want to visit the Roman Forum, make sure NOT to enter it across from the Colosseum, because a lot of people visit the Colosseum first and continue with the Roman Forum, so the queue is always way too long. We took the entrance on the east side of the Roman Forum, and there was no queue at all. Perfect for someone who hates to queue up. We also didn’t get an audio guide but downloaded an app with explanations for all the parts, buildings, etc. you see inside the Roman Forum area. When we entered the Roman Forum, we first didn’t know where to go first. Of course, we could have followed the numbers they added for the audio guided tour, but that would have been too easy. 😉

We just got an overview of what was around and walked to the places, buildings and/or remains that looked most interesting in our view. We probably missed a lot of things, but it’s impossible to see everything! At least, when you have only a couple of hours and not two days.

The third day was a very hot day, and therefore we had to sit down a lot of times during our visit to the Roman Forum. After two hours of walking, we were too exhausted to continue and decided to look for a restaurant to sit down at and have lunch. After having lunch and resting for a while, we walked to Passeggiata del Pincio once again. But this time we didn’t sit down and watched the people passing by, we rent a bicycle. This was the best idea ever; it was so much fun, and we didn’t have to walk 😉 We were cruising around for an hour before we had to go back to the hotel, to get our stuff and head to the airport.

Cruising around with the bicycle was a lot of fun. We didn’t see a lot of the area because we didn’t want to drive too far. Another reason we stayed in the area around the rental station was that we would have driven downhill or more precisely uphill to get back. And yep, we didn’t want to drive uphill! Not after walking more than 10 kilometres that day. Now it’s time for you to enjoy the vlog. Let me know what you think. xx
